$75 Racing Bonus Bet
100% Australian owned and operated, Palmerbet benefits from the years of experience the Sydney-based Palmer family brings to bookmaking.
- Best of the Best (BOB)
- Bet Book (Facebook Integration)
- Weekly and Daily Promotions
- Palmerbet is 100% Australian owned and operated
- Extremely experienced horse racing bookmakers behind the site, with the Palmers still operating on the Sydney rails at all metro races
- Visually appealing website with a fast & responsive interface for quick betting
- Daily betting promotions on racing with Wednesday & Saturday special offers
- Horse racing products are some of the best online, giving Palmerbet the competitive edge on bigger horse racing payouts.
- Bets can only be placed in $0.50 increments (ie. you can't place a 40c bet), which we found unusual compared to others - Only a minor drawback though.
- Exotic multi betting is unavailable which is something to consider, although not a deal breaker for horse racing enthusiast.
Palmerbet Racing History and Gambling Licence
Palmerbet Racing is wholly Australian-owned and licensed in New South Wales. Their base is at the Canterbury Racecourse in New South Wales, and they operate on-scene at all Sydney races on the Rails. The owners, the Palmer family, have been involved with betting in Australia for well over 30 years, but their entry into online betting is quite new, since Palmerbet.com was launched in August 2013.
Palmerbet is making a name for itself in the online betting world as a top 100%-Australian bookmaker. They are licensed by Racing NSW and OLGR, and financially guaranteed by the NSW Bookmaker’s Cooperative.
Horse Racing Products
Palmerbet Racing offers a wide variety of race bets, including Win/Place, Best Tote, Best of Two (which guarantees a win dividend equal to the highest Win dividend of the NSW and Supertab totalisers), and Middle Tote, among others. Their Best of the Best offer promises the highest dividend of the on-course bookmakers Top Fluctuation and the Best Tote dividends.
They also offer Quinellas, Exactas, Trifectas, and Quadrellas. With such a range, you are sure to find something to your tastes.
Palmerbet Betting Products
Best of the Best (BOB) get the highest dividend of the on course bookies top fluctuation and the best tote dividends. This product is available on all Saturday Metropolitan meetings, up to 30 minutes before each race – max bet per horse is $250.
Top Fluc will pay the best price as according to the Australian Pricing Network by the on course bookmakers at the meeting you are betting on.
Best Tote on Win/Place bets guarantees a dividend equal to the best dividend of all 3 Australian totes.
Bet Book is an interesting social media experiment by Palmerbet, it connects Palmerbet members through their Facebook account and allows you to chat about bets and share what bets you are placing. You can exchange info and tips with other punters and gloat when your roughy gets up in Race 4 at Canterbury. No information in actually posted on Facebook, it only uses your name and connects you with your Facebook friends – so don’t worry if you have a mare!
All of these offers have their own terms and conditions attached, and we recommend that you study them carefully before committing to a bet.

Joining Bonus Bet & Promotions
The Palmerbet bonus for signing up is a AU$25, 300% matched first deposit offer, which means that Palmerbet will give you $75 in free bets to bet with when you deposit $25, making for a nice total of $100. While not quite as generous as Luxbet’s triple-match offer, it’s still a pretty incentive to go with an established name and an excellent reputation.
They also have a wide variety of promotions, updated frequently, with offers such as money back on second or third place, as well as money back as Palmerbet Bonus bets in some cases. You should definitely have a look at their Promotions page for spring racing offers.
Palmerbet Website and Betting Slip
Palmerbet Racing’s website is laid out in the traditional three-column format, with the sports on the left and the odds in the middle. On the right, a betting slip pops up in the middle of an information column, but we will cover that in the next paragraph. The website itself is quite soothing, in muted colours that will definitely appeal to those who like their betting sites with a hint of class. Palmerbet’s website also has a bustling blog section with weekly tip sections and some news as well.
The website is only available in English, and the only currency is AU$, so there can be no confusion about amounts. They don’t charge any transaction fees for Australian residents, but international bank transfers carry a $15 fee when the withdrawal is below $100.
They also offer credit to their members, which can be applied for on their website.
The bet slip pops out on the right hand of the screen, and is both unobtrusive and informative, with options to convert to multis, options for exotics, and the details of selected bets.
The betting slip can be minimized while you browse , but it’s not really in the way while popped up either, since it’s in the middle of the right-hand information bar, which includes login and signup panels, a link to the mobile app, and ads for the special offers and promotions.
We like that the betting slip doesn’t cover half the screen as it does on some sites – in fact, with the layout the way it is the betting slip doesn’t cover anything at all, and never gets in the way. The betting slip on Palmerbet racing is honestly one of the least annoying we’ve seen – informative, not in the way, and absolutely dead simple to use.
There is a link to the FAQ on the left hand side of the website. The FAQ is brief but informative, and contains information useful to new customers.
The link to the company’s contact information is in the usual place at the bottom of the screen, and will take you to a page containing telephone numbers, email addresses, postal addresses, and a contact form. With such a wealth of contact formats available, we are frankly surprised that they don’t have a fax line, but they don’t have a live chat option either, so we suppose that’s fair.
If you’re looking for a solid, no-fuss option to place a bet or two on the races, you could definitely do worse than Palmerbet racing. The benefits of this site is that they have the backing of a very well established name, and a website that definitely ranks among the best we’ve seen.
Their iOS and Android apps are likewise a delight to use, and the wide range of options when it comes to betting with Palmerbet racing makes them most assuredly a top pick for anyone who wants to place a bet with the minimum of hassle.
