$150 Racing Bonus Bet
Exploding onto the scene in 2015 from the ashes of Betezy & BetEasy, CrownBet are here to stay - and they are awesome!
- Cash Out, Protest Payouts
- Daily Bonus Bets and Promotions
- CrownBet Card, AFL Live Vision
- Use your free bet bonus in separate wagers rather than in one lump sum (which some bookies make you do)
- Watch live AFL matches on the iPhone and Android apps FREE (ok, not racing related... but, awesome)
- Brilliant racing bookmaker - Australian and International markets available
- 100% Australian owned, support your country!
- Crown Signature club rewards - get rewarded for betting with CrownBet when you go to any Crown resort or facility
- Unfortunately like a lot of bookmakers these days, they reserve the right to close or limit your account. If you are going to bet with an online bookie, you need to basically swallow this bitter pill.
- Online in-play betting is not available due to Australian laws, (must call 13 54 83)
CrownBet Racing History and Gambling Licence
CrownBet racing is said to be Australia’s largest wholly-Australian bookmaker. The service was known as Betezy until 2014, and later BetEasy until 2015.
Betezy was originally launched in 2015 by A.Kay under the name AK Racing, which was previously known as bestoddsbet.com. Betezy had something of a nasty reputation at one point, and was investigated by the authorities several years ago.
In 2014 the service, then still known as Betezy was purchased by Matthew Tripp, who used to own Sportsbet, and rebranded BetEasy. BetEasy became involved with Crown Resorts in January 2015.
It was agreed that Betfair, a Crown Resorts business, would do exchange wagers, while BetEasy stuck to fixed odds and totes, after a deal between Crown Resorts and Tripp which resulted in Crown Resorts owning two-thirds of the joint venture between BetEasy and Betfair, and Tripp owning the rest.
The service was rebranded CrownBet in March 2015 to be in line with the name of the majority owner, Crown Resorts. At roughly the same time CrownBet announced a loyalty program which would earn its customers Crown Signature Points by betting with CrownBet racing. These can later be redeemed at any Crowd Resorts venue.
CrownBet is very Australia-centric. Their accounts are only in AU$, which is a nice change from the billions of sites in US$ all over the world, and their website is available in English only. They are an approved betting partner with AFL, NRL, Cricket Australia, and others.
Horse Racing Products
CrownBet offers thoroughbred racing for events taking place in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, the UK, and South Africa.
They have Win/Place, Exacta, Trifecta, Quinella, and First Four markets on many races, and daily doubles, trebles, and quaddies on various races. They also have Fixed, Best Tote for Place, and Best Tote+ for Win odds on most Australian venues.
CrownBet Beting Products
Protest Payout allow you to not sweat the protest. Placing a win bet on any Australian horse race (or harness race) with CrownBet will ensure that you have protest protection, basically what they are getting at here is if your horse finishes first past the post and is then relegated due to an upheld protest, you will still be paid out your winnings.
Mystery Bets exist for the days when you can’t even pick your nose, let alone a winner. Mystery Bets are available for all races which have a “?” icon on them. CrownBet have created a number of special ‘bundles’ for you to put on a race. These come in a number of different dollar values.
It certainly is an interesting way to bet!
Live Vision is an excellent way for CrownBet punters to watch AFL, Basketball, Tennis, Soccer – and most importantly Victorian Racing on your mobile for free. CrownBet have even enhanced the experience with up to the minute stats, in-play graphics and more (cricket launching soon too!)
Best Tote Plus ensures that you get the best payout on every Australian horse race, CrownBet will pay out the best price of all three TAB’s or the on-course starting price. You don’t need to do anything to get this, it is fixed by default to all CrownBet members. You also have the option of selecting a fixed price too if you wish.
All of these offers have their own terms and conditions attached, and we recommend that you study them carefully before committing to a bet.

Joining Bonus Bet & Promotions
The Crownbet Bonus for joining is a $150 matched first deposit, which means that if you bet up to AU$150, they will match the bet. It’s a shiny bonus for signing up with an established bookmaker, and a good incentive to bet with them if you’re planning on doing some betting on the Melbourne Cup Carnival.
This offer can be found here (http://www.longinesmile.com.au/join/crownbet/) They also offer Crownbet Bonus Bets for a wide and changing variety of races every day. You should keep an eye on their Promotions page, which can be found here (https://crownbet.com.au/promotions) for any spring racing offers as they appear.
CrownBet Website and Betting Slip
Crownbet Racing’s website is very nicely laid out. Everything you need to know is clear and easy to find, with links to customer support right at the top of every page, and links to the Terms and Conditions, FAQs, and a page about Responsible Gambling at the bottom.
For the actual betting part of the site, it’s pretty much standard-issue for betting websites, with sports, dates, and races on the left, and betting options occupying the middle.
Their betting slip functions like an Amazon cart, with the bets you want to place listed in order along with an option to combine all singles. When minimized, it displays the number of bets in the slip in a red bubble.
Making use of the site requires users to make a deposit into their (the user’s) account. This can be done with credit card, PayPal, Bpay, and POLi, or by making a direct deposit into CrownBet’s bank account.
The latter option can take up to 24 hours to reflect in your Crownbet account, so it’s not the one to go for if you’re just looking to have a quick flutter on the races. The minimum deposit is AU$5. You can withdraw using EFT and Telegraphic Transfer, subject to certain conditions.
They have extremely strict ID requirements as well, and you will not be able to withdraw your winnings if your ID has not been verified.
As we said above, links to their customer support are right at the top of the page, which is a good start. CrownBet bears out this favourable first impression by having Live Chat available 24//7. The representative we spoke to over live chat seemed to know what he was about, which is about all one can ask for from Customer Service.
The Help page itself was beautifully and clearly laid out, with a FAQ on the left and answers on the right, and a link to a more complete FAQ at the bottom. There is also a phone option and an Online Form, which will prompt them to send you an email about your question. The email response was swift and it did appear that the person on the other end was an actual human being who had visited the site before, which is always a plus.
Crownbet certainly seems like a solid option from here. They have a long track record and have successfully overcome a rather shifty start, which is always nice to see. Their website – probably the most important thing about an online bookmaker other than whether they actually pay out – is excellent – responsive, clearly laid out, and more or less bug-free – and their customer service is on point.
Their sign-up bonus is impressive, and they’re entirely home-grown. Oh, and they have an app, which is something we’d like to see more of.
